About us
7IM is a business that helps individuals through the confusing world of investments. Our services are normally offered through a Financial Planner who will have worked with the client to develop a road map to achieve their financial goal(s), such as getting to a position of not needing to work anymore.
The Financial Planner, or Wealth Manager as we also refer to them, often advises on lending, protection, pension, inheritance tax, capital gains tax and a vast suite of trusts, policies and tax wrappers that can be considered when creating a personal financial plan. These professionals are often not expert in asset management. That is our role - 7IM helps implement the plan they have made.
The way we go about it is unique in the UK. 7IM has constructed three different components to the overall investment service. These components are:
- Discretionary Management
- Multi-Asset Funds
- 7IM Wrap Platform
The multi-asset funds are risk rated portfolios and can be bought as actively or passively managed funds. Please speak to a member of our Advisory Team for further details.
7IM Objectives
7IM tries to accomplish three tasks when managing client money. These objectives are:
- Low volatility from broad diversification
- Contain costs
- Steady performance
In other words, we manage risk as much as money.
The 7IM Advisors
- Help the Wealth Manager plan the right investment portfolio to meet the goals of the financial plan you have prepared for your client, attending client meetings as required by you.
- Monitor the investments with you on an ongoing basis to ensure the portfolio does what it needs to do.
- Ensure you and your clients have as much information as you need about investment markets and our current investment strategy, including thoughts from the Asset Allocation Committee.
- Help you identify ways to grow your assets under management (portfolio reviews, seminars etc.)
- Provide good reliable administration to you and your support team whether it be the smooth transfer of investments to the platform, CGT related questions or any of those day to day queries which go hand in hand with having a successful financial planning practice.
In short, they become the investment partner to the Wealth Manager.
Good service is hard to find, and we try really hard to deliver it with people who know what they're doing, have a ‘can do' attitude, and who have the time available to work with you. That's one of the reasons they don't actually manage the portfolios.
