In addition they are asking for copies of client terms of business for erach of these periods including text setting out how my firm is paid for advice given to clients. For each period I am expected to provide correspondence and contracts which I wrote for the first three personal pensions sold in that calendar year.. Finally they require that I send them a typical letter which I would send to a client with any annual pension review.
Who are these people and do they really have the power to demand such detailed and difficult to find information. What is the point of the last 10 years or so when we all were required to provide this info to various organasations such as the FSA. Where does RDR fit into this ridiculous demand. I have decided not to comply with their demand and will no doubt find myself in court fighting some poncy little jobsworth who is backed by an act of parliament that I have never heard of.
By the way we are not estate agents and do not deal in mortgages.
Can anyone shed some light on this?
I think that you are right and should not respond and refer them to your regulator, the FSA, for wasting your time.
If this is in regard to a Complaint, they should make that clear and should understand that the FOS deals with complaints against regulated firms not Consumer Focus.
